Stuffed Bun

For the filling:
Boneless chicken- 1 cup
Steamed and cooked Carrots-1/2 cup
Steamed and cooked Beans- 1/2 cup
Onions finely chopped- 4 big
Ginger- garlic paste- 1 tbsp
Coriander powder- 1/2 tbsp
Chilli powder- 1 tbsp depending on how spicy you need
Salt- to taste
Oil- 2-3 tbsp

Method:
  • Heat oil, add the ginger garlic paste and saute till it gives out a nice aroma. 
  • Add the onions & salt. Saute them till transparent. 
  • Add the powders and mix well for 2 mins. Add salt, shredded chicken, steamed veggies and mix well. 
  • Let this cool.This would be your filling for the bun. 

For the Bun:

Ingredients:
Warm Water-2 tbsp
Sugar- 1/4 cup
Dry Yeast- 1 tbsp
Milk-1/2 cup
Oil-1/2 cup
Salt-1 tsp
Egg-1 beaten
Flour- 3 cups
Egg White-1

Method:
  • Dissolve the yeast in warm water with 1/2tbsp sugar. Leave aside for 10 minutes. 
  • Boil the milk and allow to cool down till it is warm to touch. 
  • Add sugar, oil and salt to the milk. Mix well till the sugar dissolves. 
  • Add 1 cup flour and mix to make a smooth paste. 
  • Add the beaten egg, yeast mixture and mix well with a wooden spoon. 
  • Add the remaining flour and mix well till it forms a smooth dough.You need to add the flour little by little until you get a soft dough. You may or may not need the complete flour. Sometimes you will need little more than 3 cups also. Knead well for 10 mins. 
  • Let it rest for 2-3 hrs till it doubles in volume.Punch down the dough lightly using your palm and divide them equally.You will get around 15 buns from the quantity. 
  • Flatten them into small discs and fill them with 1 tbsp of the filling. Re-shape them into a ball. 
  • Apply the egg wash. Sprinkle the top with sesame seeds. Let it stand for another 20 mins. 
  • Bake them in a pre-heated oven at 180 C for 15-20 mins.
